FAQ

What do you do to help your clients prepare for life after football?

We feel that career transition planning should be one of the most important areas of concern to a professional football player. Career transition planning is a term we use for focusing on life after football and the transition from football to the next aspect of life. The average NFL career lasts approximately three years. Even if an athlete is fortunate enough to have a ten-year NFL career, he will only be in his mid-thirties after the completion of his football career.

Therefore, it is vital to an athlete to begin, at an early age, to plan for his future. We encourage our clients, at an early stage of their career to begin thinking about what they would like to do after football. We assist our clients in obtaining internships in areas they may have an interest in and in obtaining permanent employment after football. We also aid our players in continuing their education. Many of our clients have gone on to receive their Masters and Doctorate degrees. Additionally, we are continually educating our clients on the best ways to handle their business affairs. We encourage and show our clients how to secure their financial futures.

Finally, many of our clients continue to work with us long after their NFL careers have ended. We continue to assist our athletes in all aspects of their business and financial matters. We want them to feel like we are a resource center for them, and that we are ready and willing to help them with every aspect of their lives.

How often do you typically get to see your clients?

We see our clients frequently both during the season and in the off-season. Typically we will see all of our clients at least once during pre-season and twice during the regular season.
In addition, we see our clients at least twice during the off-season in order to assist with taxes, financial affairs, and to communicate in general about their careers. Of course, these personal visits are in addition to phone communication, which occurs regularly throughout the year. Generally speaking however, we have an open door policy with our clients. They are more than welcome to stop in and see us anytime they want and if they need us to come out and see them, we are more than willing to do so.

Does your agency allow a player to train for the All Star Games and the Combine at his school? If so, what support do you provide? What are the costs associated with the support provided?

We encourage our clients to train for the Combine at their school. This is a comfortable environment in which the player has been training for many years. Our goal is that our clients have a total understanding of the draft process, so that they may maximize their draft positions.

If a player feels that they would benefit from training at a location other than their school, EAS has developed one of the most comprehensive programs in the country. The professionally staffed and operated facility located in Cherry Hill, NJ provides our clients with everything they need to be comfortable, confident, and perform at their best.

Our approach to the combine can be summed up in two words, Be Prepared. Preparation includes both the physical and mental aspects of the combine. To many NFL teams, the interview portion of the Combine is even more important than the physical portion. With the large amount of money involved in each pick, it is crucial the player make a positive impression among the management and scouts of each team.

In terms of the physical aspects of the Combine it is essential that the player know what general and position drills he will need to perform. Additionally, these drills must be incorporated into the player’s daily workout routine and performed in the most efficient manner.

Our combine training addresses both the physical and mental aspects of the combine. We provide a NFL strength coach who has worked the drills at the combine and has been involved in the interview process. At our cost, we bring our clients to Cherry Hill, NJ several times. Our NFL strength coach puts the players through the combine drills. Then we familiarize our clients with the NFL management and the questions and issues that will be presented during the interview process.

Finally, our players meet with a nutritionist and are instructed on the proper way to eat. All these services are provided at our cost to show our clients our commitment to them. By the time the Combine arrives, our clients are well prepared. They know who they will be meeting with, what questions will be asked, and what drills they will have to perform. This approach has been extremely successful and our clients have been among the most well prepared athletes at the combine.

Do you represent athletes in other sports?

At EAS, we feel that specialization is one of the keys to our success. EAS represents ONLY professional football players. This allows us to develop and nurture relationships, which are invaluable to our clients. With over 60 years of experience representing NFL players, the ability of our staff to provide quality representation is unmatched.
